China sets up task force to make AI token services more reliable
On June 16, China's top tech research institute will host a meeting in Beijing to push for better AI token services. They will form a special study group and launch a plan to improve token service quality. A new platform will go live to track how well public cloud AI models perform on token speed and delay. The event will also release official standards for token services and give certificates to providers that meet them. Token is the basic unit AI uses to process text, images, and more. By March 2026, China's daily token usage hit over 140 trillion times, a thousand-fold jump from early 2024. This shows how fast the demand for reliable token services is growing.
