China Telecom pushes AI with new token plan
At the 2026 China Internet Conference, China Telecom's vice president Luan Xiaowei said AI is no longer just a helper but a key force reshaping how industries work. AI is spreading fast in manufacturing, finance, and government sectors. China Telecom will upgrade its computing, platform, data, and model systems, shifting from traditional traffic-based business to token-based operations.
China Telecom is building a nationwide computing network that connects general, smart, and supercomputing resources. It has set up three large-scale smart computing clusters in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao. By end of 2025, its total smart computing power will exceed 91 EFLOPS. The company also launched the Xingchen TokenHub platform, supporting over 100 mainstream AI models.
China Telecom has created 110+ industry models and 350+ smart agents for manufacturing, finance, and healthcare, serving 37,000 business clients. It offers a smart office agent and token commercial packages to cut AI costs. Earlier, it introduced token plans for individuals and families starting at 9.9 yuan per month.
