China Unveils AI Startup Support Plan for SMEs
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released a plan to support AI startups for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from 2026 to 2028. The goal is to nurture over 10,000 innovative SMEs and 2,000 "little giant" firms specializing in niche technologies over three years.
To cut costs, the plan ensures affordable computing power through a national platform and improves data access for AI startups. It encourages new types of founders, like "one-person companies," and supports open-source communities, including the AtomGit platform, to boost collaboration and innovation.
