Chinese AI models speed up Tmall entry, Token plans go e-commerce
Chinese AI model makers are moving fast into e-commerce. On Sept 2, Zhipu opened its official Tmall store, selling a Coding Plan based on the GLM-5.3 model, which works with 20-plus agents like ZCode and Claude Code. Before, these plans were only sold on official sites.
On Sept 3, Tmall launched a Token top-up center, first taking in Alibaba Cloud, Zhipu, Kimi, MiniMax, and DeepSeek. Alibaba Cloud and Zhipu run official stores; the other three are agent-run. Kimi, MiniMax, and StepFun are also talking to Tmall to open their own stores.
This shift means AI subscription plans are entering regular online shopping, giving users an easier way to buy and possibly boosting the spread of AI products.
