Cursor launches mobile app for AI coding on the go
Cursor, an AI coding tool, has launched a mobile app called Cursor Mobile. Users can now control their AI coding agents directly from their phones. The app works with the Cursor 2.0 update from last October, which turned the service into a standalone AI agent for generating code. You can create new agents on your phone or connect to ones already running on your computer.
Before this, Anthropic and OpenAI also released similar mobile apps. The whole AI coding industry is moving away from writing code by hand and toward managing AI agents that generate code. Developers no longer need to pull up huge code libraries. More people are dropping their multi-screen computer setups and using phones to keep talking and working with cloud-based agents anytime, anywhere.
Boris Cherny, who leads Claude Code at Anthropic, said he now does most of his coding on his phone. He thinks it sounded crazy half a year ago, but it's now a fact.
