DeepSeek Forms Harness Team to Build Code Agent Rivaling Claude Code

DeepSeek, a Chinese AI company based in Beijing, has registered a WeChat official account for its 'Harness team' but hasn't posted yet. In May, DeepSeek internally formed this team to build a coding agent product, aiming to compete with Anthropic's Claude Code. Senior researcher Chen Deli confirmed the news. The team will focus on developing 'DeepSeek Code Harness'. DeepSeek is hiring product managers and engineers for the team, with positions based in Beijing. Their office is near top universities like Peking University and Tsinghua University.
