DeepSeek Harness launches desktop app in developer preview
DeepSeek Harness has released an official desktop app, currently available as a developer preview, version V0.1.7-rc.2. It supports Windows x64 and macOS Apple Silicon (M series), and no longer requires installing Node.js, opening a terminal, or manually running commands. Previously, the tool was only available as a WebUI.
The desktop app offers four modes: Standard mode for handling code and files, PTC mode for batch tool calls with filtering and summarizing, Minimal mode that uses only terminal tools, and Creative mode for customizing features and interfaces through conversation.
DeepSeek Harness is an open-source agent runtime framework developed by Chinese company DeepSeek AI, written in TypeScript under the MIT license. Its key feature is "Everything is a Plugin," with all agent capabilities provided through the underlying Cordis plugin system. The current version may have some limitations in stability and compatibility, so users are advised to save important data.
