DeepSeek launches open-source AI coding tool Deep Code

DeepSeek has added a new open-source AI coding assistant called Deep Code to its API docs. It's built for the DeepSeek-V4 model series and supports deep thinking, reasoning control, and agent skills.

The first version came out in May, and it's now updated to v0.1.31. You can use it in terminal or as a VS Code plugin. Deep Code keeps chat history based on your project, so you can pick up where you left off without re-explaining everything.

It's an agent-based tool that can read files, edit code, and run commands. If your team uses other OpenAI-compatible models, you can still connect Deep Code to them.
