DeepSeek Open-Sources Infrastructure Components for Huawei Ascend Platform
DeepSeek announced on its official WeChat account that it has officially open-sourced infrastructure components for Huawei's Ascend computing platform. These include the TileLang high-level language compiler tool, computing libraries, and distributed communication libraries. All components correspond one-to-one with previously open-sourced components for Nvidia's platform.
TileLang is easier to program than Nvidia's CUDA language, significantly improving development efficiency and simplifying code logic. Its programming model can fully leverage chip features to reach hardware performance limits. This approach was first validated on Nvidia's mature platform and currently handles most operator implementations in DeepSeek V4 series model training.
The open-sourced TileLang Ascend version wraps Ascend C low-level instructions, provides high-level language programming without sacrificing hardware performance. The release also includes DeepGEMM, DeepEP, TileKernels, FlashMLA, and DeepSelect. In multiple key test cases, computing and communication performance has approached hardware limits.
