DeepSeek Releases V4-Flash API with Big Agent Upgrades

DeepSeek announced the public beta of its V4-Flash API on July 31. This version brings major upgrades to agent capabilities, with benchmark scores beating the V4-Pro-Preview across the board, like 82.7 on Terminal Bench 2.1 and 54.2 on NL2Repo.

The official V4-Flash now natively supports the Responses API format and is adapted for Codex. It keeps the same model structure and size as the preview, but has been retrained. Only the Flash API got this update; V4-Pro API and app/web models stay the same, and the full V4-Pro release is coming soon.
