Denmark fights AI cheating in high schools with oral exams and screen monitoring
This summer, Denmark saw a big rise in AI cheating at high schools. As generative AI enters campuses, students use it to finish homework or even cheat on exams, challenging traditional education. The Danish government introduced urgent measures, including more oral exams, monitoring computer screens during tests, restricting internet access, and encouraging supervised work at school. About 9,000 students each year will now have oral exams. Despite the trouble, schools, students, and parents believe AI shouldn't be simply banned from schools, but used wisely. Earlier, universities in Australia changed exam methods, bringing back oral and paper tests. Seoul in South Korea also banned AI glasses during final exams.
