Doubao's Virtual Desktop Lets AI Operate Your PC Like a Human

Doubao, an AI assistant from ByteDance, has launched a new feature for Windows called Virtual Desktop. After choosing task mode and authorizing, Doubao can view the screen, move the mouse, click buttons, and type on the keyboard, just like a human, to handle complex tasks in a separate environment.

This feature uses general GUI capabilities, so it doesn't need MCP, API, or plugins to understand interfaces and operate apps or browse web pages. It works without interfering with what you're doing, and you can watch it in real time and pause or take over anytime.

Doubao's Virtual Desktop aims to make AI more practical and interactive, making it easier to automate cross-software tasks in daily office work.
