Douyin cracks down on AI-modified cartoons, removes 23,400 pieces of content

Douyin has found some accounts using AI to alter classic cartoons under the guise of children's education, adding inappropriate or violent scenes to attract young users. This harms minors' well-being.

The platform removed 23,400 pieces of such content and dealt with 1,300 accounts. Examples include account "9*5" which added violence to cartoons to get likes, and account "8*7" which spread vulgar content. Both were silenced.
