Europe's LUMI-AI Supercomputer Picks French Builder, 10x AI Power
Europe's high-performance computing joint venture has picked French firm Bull to build the LUMI-AI supercomputer. It will be housed at Finland's CSC data center, powering industrial AI, research, and large-scale simulations.
Using AMD's MI430X GPUs and 6th-gen EPYC CPUs, LUMI-AI will deliver 2x HPC and 10x AI performance over the current LUMI system. Slated for late 2027, the project costs 387.8 million euros, split evenly between EuroHPC JU and the LUMI AI factory alliance.
