Facing AI Changes, iQIYI Launches Decentralized Transformation, Opening Creator Self-Uploading
At the iQIYI World Conference today, founder and CEO Gong Yu gave a keynote speech. He said that in response to AI-driven changes, iQIYI will launch a decentralized transformation—shifting from the traditional model where a few decide audience preferences to a creator and user community.
Gong Yu noted that AI technology will drastically cut content production costs and cycles, possibly increasing the number of creators and works by over 100 times. Centralized decision-making can't handle this, so the platform will allow more creators to upload works independently, monetize via memberships and ads, while keeping some top content production.
To speed up this change, iQIYI is looking for partners, "begging" for high-quality AI-generated film and TV works, and urgently needs interdisciplinary talents who know both AI tech and artistic creation.
