GitHub Copilot Adjusts Personal Subscription Plans, Pauses New User Registration for Paid Versions

GitHub Copilot recently adjusted its personal subscription plans. To prioritize service quality for existing paid users, it has paused new user registration for Student, Pro, and Pro+ plans. The free version remains open to new users, and existing users can upgrade between plans.

The adjustment also tightens usage restrictions: Pro+ offers over 5 times the quota of Pro, so Pro users needing more can upgrade to Pro+. The Pro plan no longer provides the Opus model; Pro+ only retains Opus4.7 and removes versions 4.5 and 4.6.

If users face unexpected restrictions or the changes don't meet their needs, they can cancel Pro or Pro+ subscriptions without April charges. Refunds must be requested via GitHub support between April 20 and May 20.
