Global AI Governance Cooperation Summit Concludes; Multiple Countries Sign Development Declaration
The two-day AI Action Summit concluded in Paris, France, attracting about 1500 participants from over 100 countries and regions. France, China, India, the EU and others signed the Declaration on Developing Inclusive and Sustainable AI for Humanity and the Earth, advocating open, inclusive and safe AI development.
China actively promotes global AI governance: it released the Global AI Governance Initiative, signed the Bletchley Declaration, and promoted a UN General Assembly resolution on AI capacity-building cooperation supported by over 140 countries. Chinese enterprises like Guizhou Mengzhu Tech use AI for pig health management; steel industry big models drive digital transformation; medical AI aids primary-level diagnosis.
Experts note existing global governance mechanisms struggle to address AI challenges, requiring upgraded cooperation models. Turing Award winner Yao Qizhi warned that accelerated AI popularization poses safety risks, urging early research on countermeasures.
