Google adds AI study tools to Search and Gemini
Google has announced new AI study tools for Search and Gemini, including interactive visuals, 3D simulations, and practice quizzes. These features aim to help students understand complex topics more easily. This update is part of Google's effort to make Gemini a top AI assistant for learning, competing with OpenAI and education startups like Knowt and Gauth.
In Google Search, students can generate customized learning content, such as searching for "pH scale" to get an interactive visual, or upload files to create study guides. Lens will allow photo-based problem solving with guidance. Gemini now offers multi-step research reports, letting users run research in the background and discuss results by voice. It also generates interactive 3D simulations, like exploring a DNA structure. A new Study Hub in the Gemini app will centralize tools, including notebooks, flashcards, and quizzes.
