Google Adds Media Watermark Setting to Gemini, Allowing Users to Turn Off Visible Marks
Google announced on X on August 14 that it will add a Media Watermark setting to Gemini, allowing users to turn off visible watermarks on images, videos, and music. The option is located in the third-to-last item in the Gemini sidebar settings menu, with 'On' and 'Off' choices. When turned off, AI-generated content will no longer show visible watermarks, but SynthID invisible watermarks and C2PA metadata will remain to identify AI-generated content and record its source and edit history. This move aims to balance user needs with content traceability, ensuring that AI-generated content remains identifiable.
