Google brings AI models to Mac with offline edge app

Google's AI Edge Gallery app is now on macOS, letting Mac users run Gemma models right on their device. The app works fully offline, so you can chat, process images, and understand text without an internet connection—fast and private. It offers five Google models, including Gemma-4-12B-it, which handles text, vision, and audio on a 16GB Mac, plus some coding skills. Another app, AI Edge Eloquent, is a free dictation tool that turns speech into text locally, cleaning up mistakes and polishing your words. It even lets you add custom terms to avoid errors.
