Google Previews Android's Create My Widget Feature, Supports Natural Language Widget Generation

Google recently previewed the Create My Widget feature for Android, which will officially launch this summer. It simplifies manual widget configuration into natural language interaction—users just need to voice their needs to generate custom widgets.

For example, users can request weekly high-protein meal recipes or weather widgets showing only wind speed and rainfall. It also integrates data from apps like Gmail and Calendar, aggregating flight and hotel booking info to reduce app-switching hassle.

The feature relies on the Gemini large model, combining external knowledge and user personal data to deliver a personalized experience similar to a private assistant.
