Google pushes TPU chips to Neoclouds, challenging Nvidia's GPU dominance
Google is pitching its custom TPU AI chips to Neoclouds, startups that mainly offer cloud computing for AI. These companies typically rely on Nvidia's GPUs because Nvidia has mature data center solutions that are easier to set up and can handle more market demand.
The report says Google has talked with several Neoclouds about using TPUs and even offered to lease them back. But Neocloud firm Nscale says all its signed and planned clusters use GPUs, and Nvidia doesn't give them any financial perks for not using TPUs.
