Meta's AI assistant Muse hits 10 million US downloads in 40 days
Meta's AI assistant Muse has passed 10 million US downloads within 40 days of launch. That puts it in a very small club of apps. Sensor Tower data shows the app launched in September and has been downloaded 10.9 million times in total.
Most apps that hit this mark before were mobile games like Fortnite. Besides Meta's own Threads, Disney+ is the only other non-game app on the list. Meta promoted Muse across its apps with 3.6 billion daily users and spent 39% of its October ad budget on it.
Muse also keeps users better than rivals like ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok. Its 7-day retention is 30% and 14-day retention is 23%, above the rivals' average of 19% and 16%. Daily active users have passed 2.5 million.
For comparison, ChatGPT got 3.7 million US downloads in its first 40 days, while Grok and Claude only got 500,000 and 200,000. Muse has held the top spot on the US App Store almost the entire time.
