Google Stitch Update: AI Enables Direct Conversion from Abstract Ideas to Polished UI Designs, Ditching Wireframe Workflows
Google recently updated its UI design tool Stitch, introducing the core concept of 'vibe design' which breaks the traditional wireframe-based workflow. Users can now start designing directly from abstract ideas and emotions instead of relying on wireframes. The new version of Stitch has a redesigned interface and an AI-powered infinite canvas, supporting multiple context formats like images and text to provide ample space for creativity from concept to prototype.
In terms of AI features, Stitch can design pages by 'interviewing' users, provide real-time design evaluations, and update designs in response to voice commands. It adds design agents and a manager that can analyze project lifecycles, track parallel creative progress, and extract design systems from URLs with one click. Additionally, the tool introduces the DESIGN.md format to enhance cross-platform compatibility and supports converting static designs into interactive prototypes.
Currently, Stitch is an experimental app in Google Labs. Developers can integrate external AI tools like Gemini CLI via the SDK to further expand its application scenarios.
