Gree Electric's Dong Mingzhu: Proficient in Using AI for Work, Advises Young People Not to Fear AI Replacement

Dong Mingzhu, a deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman of Gree Electric, recently revealed she has become proficient in using AI for daily work. When asked about young people's worries of being replaced by AI, she responded with a smile: "I'm not afraid at my age—why should you young people be? You need to learn to be smarter than AI." Earlier at the 2025 China Brand Festival, Dong emphasized the symbiotic relationship between traditional industries and AI technology, stating that AI in the digital age should be integrated with traditional industries, and manufacturing needs continuous innovation to improve its level. During the 2026 National Two Sessions, she also put forward five proposals on regulating platform economy, promoting green consumption, etc., including strengthening e-commerce platforms' anti-counterfeiting responsibilities and standardizing the second-hand home appliance market.
