High computing costs for SMEs? China's MIIT explores 'computing power bank' to support idle resource sharing
Many SMEs face high computing power costs, and idle computing resources are often wasted, which hinders their digital and AI development.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently launched a special initiative to empower SMEs with inclusive computing power. It will explore innovative services like 'computing power bank' and 'computing power supermarket', allowing SMEs to deposit idle computing resources for flexible cross-region and cross-cycle use.
Local authorities are encouraged to subsidize 'computing power vouchers' for eligible SMEs, simplifying the application process to reduce their cost burden.
