HMD has launched its first smartphone in India, the Vibe 2 5G, which comes with a built-in AI chatbot called Indus, developed by Indian AI company Sarvam. The phone costs about 772.6 yuan and has a 6000 mAh battery. Indus is based on Sarvam's own AI model with 105 billion parameters and supports 22 Indian languages, including mixing Hindi and English in one sentence. But it can't work offline and isn't deeply integrated into the phone system. HMD says the goal is to get more people to try Indus first, and other Vibe models will also get it later. They also plan to launch basic phones with Sarvam AI features.
