Honor robot Lightning meets two champion runners offline
Honor's humanoid robot Lightning has met two champion runners offline for the first time. It joined Sebastian Sawe, a Kenyan marathon star and Honor's Global Chief Running Officer, and Zhao Jiaju, a Chinese trail running champion. They raced and interacted on the same stage.
Sawe is the first person in history to finish a full marathon in under 2 hours. Zhao Jiaju is the first Chinese Asian champion of the 330km Tor des Geants race in Italy in 2026.
Launched only 7 months ago, Lightning won the autonomous navigation group at the Beijing Yizhuang humanoid robot half marathon with a net time of 50 minutes 26 seconds. Honor robots swept the top six places. It was the first time a humanoid robot broke the human half marathon world record.
The three champions met to explore more ways of running. It shows these robots can now handle long races with strong endurance, cooling, stable control and adaptability.
