HPE Gets First AMD Helios AI Rack Order Worth $1.2 Billion
HPE has received its first order for AMD's "Helios" AI rack system, valued at $1.2 billion (about 8.057 billion yuan). The order was placed by Vultr, a private cloud infrastructure company. Vultr is also a partner of Juniper Networks, and this relationship continued after HPE acquired Juniper.
The HPE version of AMD "Helios" integrates six Juniper Networking QFX5252 scalable Ethernet switch bays per rack, connecting all 72 Instinct MI455X GPU accelerators through standard-based high-bandwidth, low-latency Ethernet.
HPE also supplies Vultr with AI racks based on NVIDIA solutions. This order marks AMD's further expansion into the enterprise market for high-performance AI computing infrastructure.
