HPE's new ProLiant server confirmed to support NVIDIA Rubin PCIe GPU
A presentation shared by HPE with overseas media shows that its new ProLiant DL585a Gen13 server, built for the AI era, supports NVIDIA's Rubin PCIe GPU, a key part of the new ProLiant lineup.
The current Rubin GPU is a data center product in an SMX form factor that draws up to 2300W, so it can't fit into a PCIe card. A PCIe version would need a smaller design and much lower clocks, possibly using the rumored GR202 chip shared with next-gen GeForce gaming cards.
This 10U server packs two AMD EPYC 9006 processors, supports eight dual-width or sixteen single-width cards, and offers sixteen EDSFF E3.S drive bays, leaving plenty of room for AI workloads.
