Humanoid robot penalty shootout ends with China Mobile's Lingxi robot winning
At MWC26 Shanghai, a humanoid robot penalty shootout was held. China Mobile's Lingxi robot CM-H2-A won the championship from 8 teams, also taking home the Golden Glove, Golden Boot, and Best Celebration awards. The robot uses ROS2 to control its soccer skills, combining lidar, wide-angle camera, and depth camera for precise positioning and tracking. Its AI model runs fast with millisecond delays, letting it keep a steady cycle of sensing, deciding, and acting. When attacking, the robot can navigate, chase the ball, aim, and shoot by itself. When defending, it adjusts its position based on the ball's path and avoids unnecessary moves. It can also handle problems like losing the ball or signal issues on its own. Using a special motion control system, the robot mimics real human kicks like pushing, curling, and poking shots, using hip and knee joints for power and ankle joints for accuracy.
