Intel CEO says China's AI models cost less and spread fast
According to Reuters, Intel CEO Lip-Bu Chen said at a panel hosted by DBS Bank that China's frontier AI models have low token costs and are spreading very fast.
He noted that Chinese AI models like DeepSeek, Kimi, and GLM are already good enough. He firmly supports open source as the best way to boost efficiency, and believes the market will decide how different models are used.
He also said quantum computing may go mainstream in the next three to five years. Software will help improve how infrastructure is used, which is key to the technology's growth.
