Japanese company launches compact edge AI PC for 24 video streams

Japanese company Analog Tech has launched the AironiA AIR-AD-AI-001, a compact edge AI PC system about 5 liters in size. It runs on an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor and adds a dNPU accelerator card with 214 TOPS INT8 performance via PCIe. The AI card uses AxeleraAI's Metis AIPU chip, built on Samsung's 5nm process, consuming only 8-15W. For object detection with YOLOv5, it handles 24 video streams at once, perfect for edge computing. The system packs 32GB DDR5 RAM, a 512GB NVMe SSD, dual Ethernet ports (2.5GbE and 1GbE), and HDMI 2.1/DisplayPort outputs. It can later upgrade to AxeleraAI's more powerful Europa AIPU for even better performance.
