Jeff Bezos: AI is a bulldozer, software engineers should embrace it

Jeff Bezos has a different take on AI replacing jobs. In an interview at Blue Origin's launch site in Florida, the Amazon founder compared AI to a bulldozer, saying software engineers should be happy, not worried.

Bezos said AI will boost everyone's value and make society more productive. He acknowledged warnings from experts like Geoffrey Hinton and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei about potential job losses, but stressed there are huge opportunities ahead.

Despite tech companies shifting funds to AI and causing layoffs, tech jobs have actually risen by 30% this year. Bezos believes if AI isn't held back too much, it will bring cheaper food and housing, and lower prices overall.
