Jensen Huang says stop scaring people about AI
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says AI doomsayers have done their job warning the world, and it's time to move on. He thinks some industry leaders are scaring Americans by talking about massive job losses from AI, and their worries about China's AI progress are making Washington policymakers nervous.
Huang stresses it's reasonable to focus on safety and explain AI to regulators, but the industry also needs to show people the benefits of AI. He points out that the predicted job losses haven't happened, and debates about whether AI has consciousness or if a tech singularity is coming are just made-up stories.
Huang calls for more excitement about AI and says the US will only fall behind if it doesn't use AI. He believes AI leaders should just stick to the facts and stop spreading unhelpful narratives.
