Jensen Huang: Telecom base stations may become distributed AI networks
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said at the GTC conference in Berlin that in the future, all telecom operators will offer AI computing power, and telecom base stations could grow into distributed AI networks.
He revisited his "five-layer cake" theory of AI, which splits AI from bottom to top into energy, chips, infrastructure, models, and applications. He stressed that AI is not just software, but core industrial infrastructure like electricity and the internet, with each layer closely connected and pulling the others up.
He added that this system covers energy companies like Siemens Energy and Schneider Electric, AI factory builders Nscale and Firebird, plus European AI model company Mistral, legal AI firm Legora, and translation tool DeepL, sketching out the full AI industry chain.
