Kimi K2 API to Be Retired Soon

Kimi, developed by Moonshot AI, announced that its K2 series model API will be shut down on May 25, 2026. This includes versions like kimi-k2-0711-preview and others. Users should switch to the latest kimi-k2.6 model for better multimodal understanding, reasoning, coding, and agent capabilities.

Kimi K2 was the first open-source model with trillion parameters from Moonshot AI, launched in July last year. It uses a MoE architecture with 1T total parameters and 32B active parameters, focusing on coding and general agent tasks. The K2 Thinking version, released in November, can autonomously perform up to 300 tool calls without human intervention.
