Kingsoft Office launches WPS Notes, an AI-powered note-taking app
At the 'WPS AI Next' event in Beijing, Kingsoft Office officially launched WPS Notes, an AI-native multimodal note-taking product. It moves away from the old 'user organizes, tool stores' model, integrating AI throughout the process from recording to reuse.
WPS Notes supports multimodal input like voice, images, text, and web pages. It features real-time AI speech transcription, image content extraction, and keystone correction. A key innovation is its multi-level AI auto-tagging system, which replaces traditional folders by automatically generating tags based on content semantics. Its global multimodal search can find information across text, images, and audio.
The app includes the WPS Lingxi assistant for tasks like note organization, summarization, and task extraction. It also supports external MCP access, letting third-party AI apps like Cursor and Claude read notes directly. WPS Notes creates a 'record, understand, organize, search, reuse' loop, aiming to solve the pain points of information management in traditional note-taking tools.
