KRAFTON rolls out preview of open-source Raon-1 mini model

KRAFTON, a well-known South Korean gaming company, has announced the preview of Raon-1 mini, an AI model trained from scratch by its AI branch KRAFTON AI. The full version and larger models are coming soon. The model uses a Mixture-of-Experts design with linear attention and supports speculative decoding, with a size of 30B-A4B. It focuses on Korean while keeping strong English skills, and it is open-sourced under the Apache 2.0 license. A free API trial is available on its website for a limited time. KRAFTON AI says the preview matches Meta's Muse Glimmer 30B in coding and agent tasks, while running faster and using memory more efficiently. It can also hold natural conversations. As an open-source model built by a gaming company, Raon-1 mini offers the Korean AI ecosystem a new base model option.
