Manus Launches 'My Computer' Desktop App: Turn Regular PCs/Macs into Personal AI Agents

Manus recently launched the "My Computer" desktop app, supporting Windows 11 PCs and Apple Silicon Macs. The app runs via terminal command-line instructions, able to read, analyze and edit local files, simplifying repetitive tasks like auto-sorting photo libraries and batch renaming invoices.

It can also call local toolchains like Python, build Mac apps in 20 minutes without Xcode; wake idle GPUs for ML training, or turn Mac mini into remote AI nodes. Users can send remote commands via phone when out, and the system will wake the computer and send files.

For security, each terminal command requires explicit user approval, with options to "allow always" or "allow once".
