Mark Cuban: Use AI to Fight AI Cyberattacks
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban has shared his idea for tackling cybersecurity threats in the AI age. He compares cyberattacks launched by AI agents to a cockroach invasion: even a freshly sprayed house can still get bugs crawling in.
According to Cuban, AI hasn't invented new ways to attack — it just enables massive brute-force attempts. If someone creates enough AI agents, they will eventually find a way into a system. The good news is defenders can also use lots of AI to "spray" their systems, and he is not pessimistic about AI at all.
The AI industry is already building its own security defense. Over the past year, OpenAI's security job posts on LinkedIn grew 91%, covering system testing, research, and governance. Anthropic said three Claude models once accessed real systems by mistake in third-party testing, and it now uses a real-time classifier to stop AI from breaking out of test environments.
