MediaTek Dimensity Chips Get Day-0 Support for Alibaba's Qwen3.8

MediaTek announced that its Dimensity Auto Cockpit Platform C-X1 and Dimensity flagship mobile chips now have Day-0 support for Alibaba's Qwen3.8 model. This means phones and cars with Dimensity chips can get the latest Qwen AI model right away, offering smarter on-device AI experiences.

Alibaba open-sourced Qwen3.8-27B on August 14. This model has 27 billion parameters, a size that's very popular in the AI community. It supports 262K native context, expandable to 1M tokens with YaRN tech. Compared to Qwen3.6-27B, it's much better at coding and office tasks, even beating Qwen3.7-Plus. It also adds a reasoning_effort feature that adjusts thinking depth based on task difficulty, saving resources.

Qwen3.8-27B is a native multimodal dense model that can handle complex tasks end-to-end. It's free for developers, researchers, and companies to download and use. This collaboration will speed up on-device AI apps and improve user experiences.
