At its Q2 2026 earnings call, MediaTek said its first AI ASIC accelerator is expected to enter mass production in Q2 2026, with a second product aiming for 2028. The company now treats Intel's EMIB-T packaging as a key option alongside TSMC's CoWoS, and confirmed EMIB is on track for 2028. MediaTek also noted its 448G SerDes is progressing well, and it's developing CPO optical interconnect on TSMC's COUPE platform. To secure supply chain and expand into full-scale systems, the board approved $5 billion (about 33.8 billion yuan) in discretionary funds.
