Meituan Launches LongCat-2.5-Preview Model with Long-Task and Multimodal Focus

Meituan's LongCat API platform has launched a new large model called LongCat-2.5-Preview, focusing on long-task handling and multimodal abilities. The API and a web experience portal are now open.

The model adds image understanding, supporting cross-modal Q&A, content summaries, and complex visual reasoning. It performs well in code generation, code comprehension, and automated programming tasks, and works smoothly with mainstream development environments like Claude Code.

LongCat-2.5-Preview follows the MoE approach, with about 1.6 trillion total parameters and roughly 48 billion activated per inference. It natively supports a 1 million token context window, making it suitable for very long documents, codebases, logs, and complex multi-turn tasks.
