Meta and Anthropic in talks for a $10 billion computing power deal
According to the New York Times, Meta and Anthropic are in talks for a computing power rental deal worth up to $10 billion over two years. Anthropic proposed the deal in June, with monthly payments and an option for either side to exit early.
People familiar with the matter say the details are still being worked out. For Meta, this could become a new business line and ease investor concerns about its data center spending. Anthropic needs more computing power after launching its enterprise software Claude Code, which has seen rising demand.
If the deal goes through, it will give Anthropic a big boost in computing resources to support its AI model development and deployment.
