The new guidelines remove references to specific AI tools, focusing instead on work quality and actual impact. Currently, 93% of code changes at Meta are assisted by AI agents, and the company emphasizes that the goal is not AI adoption rates but higher quality delivery and faster iteration. Previously, Meta managed AI usage through the AI Gateway platform, alerting on abnormal token spending. The company noted that employee AI tool usage this year could cost tens of billions of dollars.
