Microsoft Copilot gets a big update, merging consumer and business features

Microsoft is giving Copilot a big makeover, planning to merge its consumer and business versions into one product, expected to launch in August. The new version will include AI coding tools and a new AI agent called AutoPilot, which handles tasks like scheduling and email summaries in the background.

Microsoft executive VP Jacob Andreou said in a memo that the team has removed 'ineffective parts' like Copilot Podcasts and Copilot Labs. He stressed that the upgraded Copilot will focus on real work scenarios, aiming to deliver clear value and boost user efficiency.
