Microsoft Rolls Back Domain Exclusion Feature for Copilot
Microsoft launched the 'Domain Exclusion' feature for Microsoft 365 Copilot on July 29, but rolled it back just a week later. The feature let IT admins configure up to 1,000 domains via PowerShell to prevent Copilot from citing them. Microsoft didn't specify why, only saying they're evaluating next steps.
Insiders suggest the rollback may be due to admin dissatisfaction with the exclusion-list approach. Manually maintaining a blocklist is seen as inefficient, and the 1,000-domain cap could be quickly reached. Some users recommend an allowlist instead to simplify management.
