Microsoft's New Image Model MAI-Image-2.6 Jumps to #2 on Arena

Microsoft launched its new image generation model, MAI-Image-2.6, on August 10th. It's now ranked #2 on the Arena leaderboard with an Elo score of 1336, just behind OpenAI's GPT Image 2. The model improved in many areas, like text rendering and 3D imaging, jumping to #1 in the 3D category.

Compared to the 2.5 version, MAI-Image-2.6's overall Elo score went up by 79 points, with a big 91-point boost in text rendering. It also supports merging multiple reference images and better understands context. Microsoft plans to make it available on MAI Playground this week, and later on Microsoft Foundry and other products.
