MiniCPM5-2B tops global chart for models under 4B parameters

ModelPi and OpenBMB released MiniCPM5-2B at the 2026 World AI Conference, with multi-chip support. It scored 17 points on Artificial Analysis, topping global models under 4B parameters.

MiniCPM5-2B supports hybrid thinking, switching between quick response and deep reasoning, with a 512K context window for processing novels or code. Its skills cover general knowledge, math, code, instructions, multilingual tasks, long texts, tool use, and search.

The model has built-in agent abilities like tool use, deep search, and code generation, trained with 200B Agent Midtraining, millions of Agent SFT tracks, and scalable Agent RL. ModelPi adapted it for AMD, Intel, MediaTek, Qualcomm, and 9 other chips via FlagOS.
